If breathing were in the hands of certain men, religious clerics would have determined a specific quota of breaths a woman is allowed per day. They would have created monthly subscription packages (a limited amount you must breathe) and forbidden her from consuming more than the set limit.
They would set "breathing regulations":
1- Breathing in mixed gender spaces is forbidden, because a man's oxygen would mix with a woman's oxygen. Consequently, the man would inhale the woman's oxygen and vice versa—this, they would claim, is adultery, and they'd call it: "Breathing Zina."
They would bring us "studies" from the most prestigious global universities warning of this dangerous matter. (Source: Pocket-pedia)
2- It is not permissible to breathe in front of men, because the process of inhalation and exhalation and the physiology of the body cause excitement for men. In this case, she is the primary cause of fitna (temptation).
3- A woman is not allowed to breathe outside the house without a mahram (male guardian).
4- A woman breathing in her home is better for her than breathing outside.
5- Breathing is not allowed without a "Sharia-compliant" mask.
6- It is forbidden for a woman to breathe during her menstrual period. However, due to the duration and as an "honor" to her, "scholars have agreed" on the permissibility of her breathing "incomplete breaths" (inhaling without full exhalation), provided she makes up for the missed breaths after purification.
7- If her husband forbids her from breathing and she refuses, her breathing becomes haram (forbidden), and the angels will curse her until morning.
8- It is not permissible to breathe the air of polytheists.
9- A woman must not breathe publicly in front of children so they do not learn this act and become corrupt from a young age; instead, she must activate the "silent breathing" feature.
10- A woman is not allowed to smell pleasant scents, as it arouses fitna.
Note:
Some "sisters" would consider this an "honor" bestowed upon them.
